Glad that we've Met, Mr. Year 2010!

Second week of the year 2010, I am back to Melbourne again! OK, I know I should write this since last year (prolly on Nov??) ...forget about it, I CAN'T explain this time!

Fully-engrossed weeks for me ever since we have met, Mr. Year 2010! Hahaha...Expedition to explore Victoria that lasted for 2 bloody weeks...TIRING YET GREAT FUN!

Hmmm...finally I wasn't left alone to explore this beautiful country all by myself...Winnie, my evil bestie has packed her stuffs and "delivered" herself to Melbourne for a steady long vacation on Dec 26..HOORAY :)

Time to get the party started...XXXXXX...

::.Dec 26th, 2009::.

Ring ring ring...waking up in the morning, 4a.m. for a quick dress up and am ready to hit the city for a shopping spree. Boxing Day - a shopping holiday and best day of the festive season for all the shopaholics, love love love!

OK, our first destination of the day - MYER in the city...crowd is huge when we(me, Wee Lee & Jiunn Horng) reached there but what a letdown, sales were not as great as last year...SNOOZER indeed! =(

After spending few hours in MYER and also city, we shifted our next shopping destination to DFO South Wharf...also, Jenn & Casper joined in the craze this time around...

However, halfway through my shopping spree, I have to sacrifce my shopping addicts to pick the smartie evil bestie of mine - Winnie, from the airport as she choose to fly at the wrong time. Fortunately, it's not as bad as it seems - at least i get to take a nap to recuperate my energy before I continue with my hectic shopping day! :D

We ended the shopping craze at around 9+ w/ some hot korean foods in Holmes Glen =)

Winner of the Day: Jenny from the Block!

.::Dec 27th, 2009::.

After a tiring + hectic shopping day, again, I woke up early in the morning - 6a.m. in order to prepare myself for another road trip to Great Ocean Road!

Even though we didn't hit the road as planned (which is 7a.m??), but still, 8 a.m. wasn't that bad huh? At least, 8a.m. - it is still VERY early for me, who is always LATE for everything! :D

After being known as the "careful" driver from my amazing driving experience in Melbourne over the weeks, this day, I am honoured enough to be the Chauffeur-of-the-day AGAIN. :) However, good things never last long - after we've reached the first stop, Torquay, they actually requested to change the driver! Seriously, I do not think there's anything wrong w/ my driving skill, but if you compared the size of the car and my height, well, couldn't blame me much, can you? =@

Then, we stopped at Apollo Bay for a quick lunch - Fish & Chips rocks big time! :D

It wasn't until 4p.m that only we have reached our first destination, Twelve Apostles. Second visit to this amazing creation of GOD, well, it was totally spoiled by the stupid flies that followed us everywhere we go! During the trip, Tim has mentioned that flies love ASIANS indeed - I do believe he's trying to tell me that Asians are smelly? :(

Besides, we have also visited places such as Loch Arc Gorge and the Blowhole during the trip. By the time we came back to Melbourne, it's already close to 1a.m. It was freaking tired yet I do devoured every moments that I've spent together with the rest throughout the journey. It is VERY enjoyable indeed.

V.A.I.N.

Human beings are V.A.I.N.

Why? Firstly, they love to meddle into people’s problem as if they are the Saint Mary. Wake up…you people!! There could only be ONE Saint Mary in this world, so don’t try so hard to be the impossible. Buck up and start getting a big mirror to reflect on your so-called HELPFUL NOSINESS. If we don’t ask for help, don’t bother to assist. Excessive of help could easily backfire the situation, you troublemaker!

Secondly, human are vain as they love to gossip behind people’s back.

“Today’s gossip, tomorrow‘s headlines.”

A very simple quote, yet so true. Being quiet doesn’t mean that you could avoid people from talking behind your back. The great power of rumors is that it could turn something that is not the fact into something that somehow sounds real to everyone. Again, who doesn’t love gossips? Clarification is a waste of time. The harder you try to clarify, the more the scandalmongers will brag on it. So fuck it…just say whatever shit you like! Truth is never important as VAINY only chose to hear thing they like to hear.

Thirdly, human beings are vain as they could never get contented with their life. Yes, the famous people around you could have a much much better life than you, a greater bf/gf, a hotter body, a prettier face, so what? Get over it, you Green-Eyed Monster! There is always a reason why you are as what you are now. Be grateful as you are still alive and not fucking starving in a desert.

"The disease of jealously is so malignant that is converts all it takes into its own nourishment." Quoted from Joseph Addison

Sydney

On 20th of February, 2009, I have FINALLY abandoned all the tedious support queries and was leaving on an airbus to a 5 days 4 nights trip to Sydney, one of the most glamorous cities on the planet. The airfare costs me about $168 for a return ticket (depart from Melbourne), which is considered as cheap for such a memorable trip.

20th of Feb

Took a airport transfer shuttle from Southern Cross Station to Avalon. Throughout the journey, couldn’t help but Ima overwhelmed with excitement! We waited as if the time was moving in a slow motion, tick tock tick tock & then that is...me and Siew Wen reached Sydney finally, at 2pm! From Sydney Airport, we took a airport transfer shuttle to the budget hotel, Y Hotel City South at Cleveland St, Chippendale. It was approximately 5 minutes walk from George St, one of Sydney's most notable city streets.

George Street: It begins in the north end of Sydney in The Rocks, near the Sydney Harbour Bridge and extends to the southern end of the city, near Central Station and Ultimo, where it leads into Railway Square. Nonetheless, Queen Victoria Building & St. Andrew's Cathedral which are located in Town Hall, are some of the MUST-GO attractions along George Street.
After dropping off our luggage beg, we headed straight to George Street for a tea break at Lindt Chocolate Cafe which terrifically, served one of the best ice chocolate that I have ever tasted!

Lindt Chocolate Cafe: http://www.lindt.com.au/

Next, we continued our journey by hitting Bondi Beach in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. "Bondi" or "Boondi" is an Aboriginal word meaning water breaking over rocks or noise of water breaking over rocks. Even though it is nothing compared to the beaches in Great Ocean Road, however, the crowd and the water sports did help in boosting up the atmosphere indeed! At around 8:30P.M., we find our way to Hurricane’s Grill & Bar Steakhouse Restaurant for our dinner appointment. As highly recommended, the spare ribs are absolutely awesome and freaking tasty...For a porky lover like me, it’s just too good to be true!

After a great dinner, we took a bus and headed back to Sydney City towards Circular Quay. Circular Quay is located on the northern edge of the Sydney central business district on Sydney Cove, between Bennelong Point and The Rocks. It is made up of walkways, pedestrian malls, parks and restaurants. It hosts a number of ferry quays and a train station. The night view @ Circular Quay is incredibly breath-taking especially for the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. After some photo-shooting session, me & Siew Wen decided to call it a day and we went back to our hotel to regenerate our energy for next day outings!

21st of Feb

Wake up at 6:00 a.m., grabbed some foods in the dining hall and ready to kick start our day for a day-trip to Blue Mountain and Jenolan Cave. As Ima not that into sight-seeing thingy, the day trip just doesn’t appeal me much. All I can remember is that we have been travelling in the bus for a long long time before we reached our destination-Blue Mountain. However, we did not spend much time at Blue Mountain and I thank God for that...!! Apparently, it’s just a waste of time... =X

Then, we continued our journey to Jenolan Caves, which, Ima not looking forward to, due to the experience at Blue Mountain. By the time we reached Jenolan, it’s already near 2p.m. After a quick brunchie, we start our exploration to the depth of the Lucas Cave. At first, the whole climbing thingy doesn’t really amuse me...at least not until Ima at the 300+ stairsteps..! Trust me...whatever that I have seen starting from this point onwards is totally amazing...Also, this is when I felt as if the $$$ that I spent on, really paid off! The formations at Jenolan are astonishing C.O.O.L! Nonetheless, the magic of Jenolan has left its mark on me as a place as timeless as it is unforgettable.
We went back to Sydney City at around 7:00 p.m. As we planned to try out the pancakes @ Pancakes on the Rocks, hence, without much hesitation, we headed to Darling Harbour, one of the favourite attractions for leisure and entertainment in Sydney!

After the dinner, went for a night stroll at The Rocks. Along the way, we can see the magnificent Opera House and Harbour Bridge which totally outshine the night view in Sydney!

22nd of Feb

The third day of my Sydney Trip. Start the day by going on a city tour around Sydney. If it wasn’t for FREE, I would never go for this trip..it’s really wasting time....Zzz...Anyway, the whole tour thingy ended at approximately 12:30 p.m. After the tour, as The Rocks is the home to a number of cafes, thus, after some thoughts, we decided to go and have our lunch at The Rocks Cafe. The pleasure of having lunch in The Rocks is the great ambience which enables us to enjoy an intimate lunch within a historic building. I would only recommend The Rocks Cafe if you are opting for desserts. The main course is not savoury enough, I would say.
After the lunch, we headed straight towards one of the well-known Sydney attractions, The Rocks Market. The peculiar of the market is because oneself can find all sort of authentic ornaments, paintings and accessories which I reckon could be nice-to-buy souvenirs.
The Rocks Market: http://www.sydney.com.au/the-rocks-market.htm

As both my feet are aching due to a long period of walking, I did not join Siew Wen for any activities for the rest of the day. However, I manage to have a sumptuous dinner with her at Jordon’s, Darling Harbour before we call it a day and head back to the hotel.

23rd of Feb

If I were to choose the BEST DAY for the whole trip, I would have voted this day for sure! Yes..but why?!? The reason is SIMPLE...For the first time ever, I touched a Baby Koala! Hahaha...Koalas... they are just too C.U.T.E.! First destination which we halted by is the Australia Reptile Park- a Home to many Reptiles and also Australian cuddly MAMMALS such as the unique platypus, koalas, wombats, Tasmanian devils, echidnas, dingoes and of course friendly hand-fed kangaroos! A fantastic experience to kick starts my day indeed!

Then, we headed to Port Stephens for a Dolphin Watch Cruise...which is one of my favourite moments I have endured throughout the journey! Port Stephens is home to the bottlenose dolphins year round and the cruise is entirely smooth sailing. This experience would definitely be one of my precious moments ever....! After the cruise, we continue our journey to Stockton Bright sand dunes and have an opportunity to try the sandboarding....Omfg...what can I say? The sandboarding encounter is f**king ghostly and exciting!

After a tiring and enjoyable day, we decided to go to Nick’s Bondi Beach Pavillion for a buffet dinner which ONLY costs $25 per pax! Whole bunch lot of mussels, steaks and ribs...Yummy yummy delicious~ Last night in Sydney, enjoy the best while I can!

24th of Feb

Sad to say but G.O.O.D things never last long and in a glimpse of seconds, it’s already the end of the trip.
As for the agenda of this day, we decided to start our day by going to Sydney Fish Market for some nice brekky. However, unexpectedly, I do not enjoy the seafood except for the Rock Lobsters.

SFM: http://www.sydneyfishmarket.com.au/

After an hour or so, we finished our food and without much delay, we make our way to the Circular Quay to take a ferry to our last destination of the trip- Taronga Zoo. The whole trip costs us about $44 only including the entrance fee to the Zoo.
At around 3.15 P.M. we call it quits to our 5 days 4 nights Sydney tour by rushing back to the hotel for the Airport Transfer Shuttle at 4 p.m. On our way back, we stopped by at QVB to buy some cupcakes for Wee Lee, the dessert queen...LOL! As highly recommended the cupcakes were indeed good~! :D

The Cupcakes Bakery: http://www.thecupcakebakery.com.au/

We reached Sydney Airport at around 4.45 p.m. and after check-in, we waited patiently in the airport for the time to board the Jetstar Airplane again. 6:10 p.m., we ended our trip at Sydney and went back to Melbourne, back to the reality. L
In conclusion, I really savour the vacation this time around, as I have SO SO SO much fun in Sydney...will definitely visit this glamorous city again someday....Nonetheless, Sydney rocks big time!

.::*~@1st of Jan, 2009@~*:.

It’s 1st of Jan, 2009…Another beginning of a new year, hopefully 2009 is gonna be a great year ahead for me and everyone around me! As a matter of fact, the only good thing about approaching a NEW YEAR is most likely earning another day off from work…Other than that…I could not even sense the excitement of entering a new year…maybe as people grow older, they tend to pay less attention to the events that took place….How time flew….and I am already 24 & am approaching 25 this year!! How can I be excited & happy over this? LOL….

1st of Jan, 2009, I missed my families, friends & Rosh back in Malaysia…66 days left before I can join the crowd in Malaysia =(
Hmmm...the decision of coming to Melbourne will definitely leave a beautiful & memorable mark to my life…it’s already been 1 month since I came to Melbourne….the thing that I’d experience in here is kinda different from Malaysia…If you ask me do I like Melbourne? Well, I do enjoy my stay in Melbourne so far but if both my families & friends are here…it would be even much better….homesick is unbearable! However, working in Melbourne and experiencing a mixture of different cultures and the lifestyle here is indeed cool & fun~

1st of Jan, 2009, went for a nice dinner with Wee Lee & Jiunn Horng– celebrating the new beginning of the year & also celebrating for Jiunn Horng as he found his passport eventually…No more nasi lemak & bah kut teh for you..haha! Btw, thanks for you guys’ companion during my stay in Melb…the place & food recommendations are awesome…truly appreciate that and I had a great time here! =)

1st of Jan, 2009, we had our dinner in Melbourne Hwaro Korean BBQ, a Korean BBQ restaurant located in Little Bourke St. The BBQ pork & kimchi soup served are awfully tasty!…Enjoy my first dinner in the year of 2009….would definitely go back and try the food again before I leave Melbourne =)

1st of Jan, 2009, we went for a walk in Melbourne City after we finished our food …we happened to drop by Bourke street and saw the Xmas Display Window of Myer…it was very special & different from all the other displays that I have ever seen…Thus, w/o wasting much time, we got down from the tram and head towards the entrance of Myer and starts taking snapshots on “How Santa Really Works”….The creativity & brilliant idea behind the creation of How Santa Really Works is amazing…Salute to Alan Snow, the creator of “How Santa Really Works”…did a great job indeed… At least, seeing stuff like this has tremendously helped in cheering my first day in year 2009 in Melbourne =)

Happy 2009 to Everyone...!

Hopefully 2009 is gonna be a great year ahead!

Cheers!

Cheezz @ Great Ocean Road...

Driving Walking Driving Walking Driving Walking…this is what I have been doing on my trip to Great Ocean Road last Saturday & Sunday…Most probably, I have never walk this much in my life before…hahaha….but luckily, the price paid off…I had an incredibly amazing moments in Great Ocean Road indeed =)

On Saturday, we departed from Melbourne at around 8a.m….it was a tiring day as I had my Christmas dinner until late midnight the day before…Talking bout the Christmas dinner…it was pretty awesome….get to hang out with my colleagues in Melbourne Office…and I truly enjoyed my meals throughout the night.....Cool cool…Furthermore, during the Kris Kringle session, I got a Snack hamper from the Company…plenty of snacks again! Hahaha….After the dinner, I went straight to Chadstone with Lee Ching & Kevin hoping to get a jacket from the stores but to no avail…By the time I reached home, it’s already 2.30a.m….Awhh…Tiring!

Me & Lee Ching in Xmas Dinner...

Kris Kringle!

Imagine how restless I would be w/o enough sleep....The trip to Great Ocean Road took about 3-4 hrs….Couldn’t deny that I was feeling restless before approaching Great Ocean Road…However, when we passed by the Lorne, amazingly, I can feel my energy starts to build up…The scenery that I saw in Lorne is definitely one of the best that I have ever seen….The weather is great, the air is cooling & refreshing…and the view is breathtaking…Hence we decided to stop by a cafĂ© in Lorne and had our breakie there…BACON, SAUSAGE & EGGs…yummy! =)

After having breakie…I felt alive again …haha…..We continue our trip to Apollo Bay…The ocean view on all the way to Apollo Bay was amazingly beautiful!! Nice songs + great weather + freshening sea breeze….nothing could be better than this! Life is all about enjoying & relaxing I guess…good experience…how I miss that moment in car =)

Breakie & Me~

We reached Apollo at around 2p.m….After checked in to the resort…we went for a stroll at the Apollo Bay Beach…Ahh….the water is freezing cold…it’s so different from beaches in Malaysia…the water is crystal clear & the sand is whitey smoothie…Ima loving it! At around 3.30p.m.we went back to Resort and after showering, we headed to the downtown of Apollo Bay for lunch....I’d order a fish & chips for my lunch…the price is cheap & the food is yummy…only costs about $7 and you got whole bunch of chips!

Apollo Bay Beach

Cute sleeping Koala on my way to Apollo Bay...

After our lunch....we headed to Cape Otway Lightstation…it was quite a long distance away from the town….but we couldn't make it, too bad….we missed the entrance hours...what a pity! We only managed to see the Lightstation from a lookout point…Bad Bad…=( Then, we decided to head to Johanna Beach instead…the quietness & seclusion of Johanna Beach provide a chance to experience the elemental forces of nature as our foot prints break the deserted sands…An experience of walk on the wild side….Lovely!

Stairway to Heaven...

Johanna Beach

By the evening…most of us are already worn out…thus we headed straight back to the town and bought some groceries for dinner…Our dinner includes Honey BBQ Spare Ribs, Honey Coated Beef, Sausages, Satay Macadamia Chicken, Tomatoes, Potatoes and also not forgetting, a potty of HOT & CREAMY mushroom soup! Man, it was damn filling.....but it gives a sense of satisfaction to me after I finished my food =) At around 11p.m. I decided to call it a day and went to bed, hoping to prepare myself better for the sight-seeing thingies on tomorrow…Nitey!

Candlelight Dinner?

On next morning, I woke up at around 9a.m., we are supposed to check out from the resort at 10a.m. and by then, I am well-prepared for my next sight seeing day!LOL…W/o wasting much time….straight away, we make our way to Wreck Beach…In the middle of the journey, we stopped at Yatzie for a quick breakie…another BACON + EGGs! Hahaha….After we finished our food, we continue our journey to Wreck Beach in MoonLight Head…On the way, we stopped by the GABLE lookout…the path to GABLE is kinda mysterious…but we still managed to make our way to GABLE at last…when I saw the GABLE view…seriously, I could not even believe my own eyes! It’s too beautiful & also breath taking …This is the first time I couldn’t see anything else except for the ocean & sky only….It’s like reaching the edge of the earth…GABLE is definitely one of my most favorite spot throughout the whole trip =)

Breakie @ Yatzie...

Lovely Couple..

The Gable

After some photo shooting session in GABLE…we continued our journey to Wreck Beach…In order to reach Wreck Beach…we have to make our way down the 400 or so steps…GOSH…this is the most tiring part of the whole journey…I can’t even catch my breathe when we try to go back to the car park…However, the view was kinda spectacular….anchors found lying embedded beneath the ocean…..Something different I guess?

Wreck Beach...

Wreck Beach Panorama

One of the most famous wreckship that had ever cross the coast of Great Ocean Road is the Loch Ard…Furthermore, Loch Arc Gorge was named after the ship in memorial of the perished crews later on…Next stop is the Twelve Apostles…there are so many stairs built over the years which allow the visitors to access to the beach which is otherwise undeveloped…...Twelve Apostles has one of the most spectacular landscape around the world....Apparently, most of the tourists would not miss to list down Twelve Apostles as one of the must-go attraction places to their tour checklist... If I were to choose one of the most beautiful/my all-time favourite view in Loch Arc Gorge, I would have to say it's The Blowhole…Ima just loving it =) At around 6p.m., we called it an end to our journey in Great Ocean Road….it’s indeed an experience which can lasts for a lifetime…Thanks to the amazing hand of the god for what I have seen…Great Ocean Road Trip owns! =)

~*Melbourne Day #???*~

.:*Day #3*:.

It's already my third day in melbourne....hmmm....it's pretty lonely here as I do not get to hang around with those cheapskate frenz of mine....Arrghhh...I missed them badly....The stupid weather is freaking me out...Hopefully summer would arrive soon! Hmm...now Ima feeling like one of those polar bears from Alaska...as I walking-hibernate all day long in Mel...except for the fact that i am just a human-bear w/o thick furs...*Shivering* =(

Apartment in Albert Rd...

Other than homesick...I guess life in Melbourne is not that bad at all....Somehow, it's kinda cool to drive in Melbourne....especially the Hook Turn part! LOL....it's one of the most unique method I'd ever seen in my life...hahaha....it feels like everyone has their eyes on you when you are hook turning! Perasan betul...kakakaka...but anyway, who cares??

.:*Day #4*:.

Hooray...finally I get to talk with the bunch of fei caiz™ through call conference! Arrrghhhhh....it feels so good to be able to hear their voice again.....it was pretty fun even tho the call only lasted for 20 mins...but it's good enuf for me to survive throughout the week....being alone in a foreign country was really a bad bad idea =( *cry baby*.....86 more days to go before i can go to back Malaysia...Their sound really makes me homesick......!!! T__T

*Sigh*......Hopefully weekends would be better.... =)

.:*Day #6*:.

*Yawn*...Woke up at 9.30a.m. this morning...preparing to go for an outing in Mornington....Mornington is about 1 hr ++ driving distance away from Melbourne....The weather is freezing cold......Initially, we plan to go for a cherry plucking session in Mornington...but too bad, the rain never stop falling since yesterday night...end up, we only get to go for a lunch in The Rocks Restaurant and Cafe in Mornington to celebrate Iysac's birthday...

The Rocks Restaurant & Cafe, Mornington

The Rocks Restaurant & Cafe offers a very unique fresh air dining experience with an absolute waterfront setting....The ambience is very nice & also relaxing....Regardless of the food, which tasted just nice....the breathe-taking view from the restaurant itself is absolutely awesome!

Some of the Main Courses..

After the lunch, we headed straight back to Melbourne...On our way back, we dropped by at Iysac's place to give her a surprise party(or perhaps a surprise cake).....And after that, we went straight back to our apartment.....By the time we reached our apartment in Albert Rd...it's already 6p.m.....The air is freezing....and i feel superb duper sleepy.....Hahaha...and thus, w/o much hesitation, I K.O. straight after chatting awhile with Rosh and Jennx2.... =D

By the time I woke up, it's already 10p.m., am still feeling full...so decided to just grab some biscuits for dinner....Tomolo would be another relaxing day for me...would be joining Lee Ching & Kevin for a shopping spree...Hopefully, it's gonna be fun.....Exploring a beautiful city like Melbourne is kinda meaningless w/o my bunch of whacky kakiz....*Arghhh*...I miss Malaysia so much! 83 more days to go...... =(

Just Woke Up!

Survivor Tips..Lappie + Snacks!!
